"Bad and Badder"

Films: The Dunwich Horror (1970)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Civilized area

Height/Weight: Three times that of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: When people think of bastard offspring from evil forces, they think Satan's been up to no good. But now comes a being that came from evil not from below, but above. In the cosmos, no less.

History: Long ago in the city of Dunwich, lady Lavinia Whateley was impregnated by forces beyond the Earth. The Old Ones had come, with presumably Yog-Sothoth doing the deed. She gave birth to twins, one the human yet sinister Wilbur Whateley, and the other...something else better off locked up in the Whateley household.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Upon being accidentally released, the twin goes completely berserk and ravages Dunwich. It's only stopped when Wilbur's ritual to awaken the Old Ones again is botched, resulting in the evil half-breed man getting struck by lightning and plummeting off a cliff. The monster perishes with him, but the would-be sacrifice has a baby on the way...

Powers/Abilities: Can tear things apart with its mind, invisibility.

Weakness: Screwing up eldritch rituals.

Scariness Factor: 4-This thing is seen very rarely, but when it is, the colors invert and go nuts, as the Old Ones tend to do to fragile minds. The beast itself is an unholy floating hydra, with nothing but flailing snakes serving as the body. It's altogether an unnerving monster, and only a taste of the power of the eldritch abominations Lovecraft warned us about.

Trivia: -In the original story, Wibur himself is no saint in terms of physical appearance, coming off as only slightly less misshapen than his unsightly twin, who dies trapped in a burning building.

-The city of Dunwich is completely fictional, a product by Lovecraft inspired by the more rural parts of Europe and a number of cities with the word "wich" at the end.
